On January 4th, 1896, Utah became the 45th state to enter the Union. The 2010 Census counted a population of 2,763,885 (about 0.9 percent of the nation's total). The bulk of Utah's population is stretched along the Wasatch Front which runs from Logan in the North to Utah County.
